NerdSync Privacy Policy

NerdSync ("we", "us", or "our") is a social discovery app for adults 18+. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Information We Collect

• Account data: email address, username, date of birth, display name
• Profile data: bio, interests, photos, vibe scores
• Location: approximate location only (fuzzed by ~1 mile) to show nearby users
• Messages: direct messages between connected users
• Usage data: app interactions, connection activity

How We Use Your Information

• Match you with compatible nearby users based on shared interests
• Enable messaging between connected users
• Verify accounts to maintain a safe community
• Improve the app and prevent abuse

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app (hosting, email delivery). Your exact location is never stored or shared — only a fuzzed approximation.

Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. Upon account deletion, all personal data, messages, and connections are permanently deleted within 30 days.

Your Rights

• Access or export your data via Settings → Data & Privacy
• Delete your account and all data via Settings → Delete Account, or at nerdsync.app/delete-account

Security

We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, bcrypt for passwords). Sensitive data is never logged.

Children

NerdSync is strictly for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
